SUMMARY:Verklärte Nacht: Poetry and Music Fusion
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an enchanting experience as we unite poetry and music in an extraordinary evening of artistic exploration in a unique setting in the A.G. Leventis Gallery. \nWe will delve into the depths of Richard Dehmel’s timeless poem “Verklärte Nacht – Transfigured Night” and experience its transformation into music by the visionary composer Arnold Schönberg. The journey takes us through the verses of the poem\, which paint a vivid portrait of love and the mystical power of the night. The musicians will provide sound examples of how Schönberg skillfully transformed the poem into a mesmerising musical composition. The evening will conclude with a live performance by the talented sextet and through their harmonious interplay you will experience the full emotional depth of this remarkable musicalisation. \nParticipating artists:\nMaria Loucaidou-Schröder – Introduction and presentation of the topics\nWolfgang Schröder – violin 1\nIraklis Mitelas – violin 2\nKumiko Okutomi – viola 1\nNikolas Efthymiou – viola 2\nJakub Otcenasek – cello 1\nRobertas Grod – cello 2 \nLanguage: English and German
